These aren't in any particular order, they;re just my favorites of the year.
Mass Effect 2
I know I said this wasnt in a particular order, but this is probably my favorite game of 2010. I think I played through it 4 times and each one was a different experience. I'm also kind of a Bioware fanboy, so I might be biased.
God Of War 3
Thrilling conclusion to one of my favorite video game series. And you get to cut off Hermes' legs, which would give a bonus to any game.
Red Dead Redemption
All I can do is applaud Rockstar for making this masterpiece. The crossing into Mexico is one of my favorite moments in gaming ever.
Fable 3
Its fable. It was a good time. Yep.
Heavy Rain
I have never played anything like this before. Hugely involving story with some of the best graphics ever. Also, this.
And those are my picks for best of 2010. Disagree with me in the comments.

Best Concert of 2010
If you know me at all then this one won't surprise you. I am picking the Mastodon/Between The Buried And Me/Baroness/Valient Thorr tour as my favorite show of 2010. 3 of my favorite bands and one pleasant surprise of an opener combined with the very specific state of mind I was in made for a night I will never, ever forget.
The aftermath of the show was also very interesting (elevators, promises of hackey-sack, breaking of said promises, 15 bajillion concerned phone calls from over 200 miles away.) And then, the zoo for the come down. Yay! Here is a video that will remind me of that most epic of nights and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. The only thing that this video doesn't capture is the visual aspect of their set, but nothing will ever match what myself and my comrades saw.

Best Music Video Of 2010-Totally NSFW
Cephalic Carnage: "Ohrwurm"!!
video taken from Metal Injection.
This video came out a while ago, but man does it stick with you. I think it's commentary on STD's, or just sex in general. But I think it is a brilliantly put together video, and the song is equally awesome, as is the rest of the album. So there you go, the best music video of 2010.

Best Of 2010
People are telling me that the year is almost over. It went by fast didn't it? Oh those were some times we had. Remember when we saw Mastodon and Baroness? Or when we bought that new bong? Good times. Anyways, I figured it was about time for me to start rolling out all my "Best Of 2010" stuff, since 2010 will be gone in two days. Keep on the look out for that stuff coming up.

A Question
So, I was perusing the stock of the Xbox Live Marketplace today and happened upon the demo for Dead Space 2 (haven't played it yet, but looking forward to it) and a question came to mind. How relevant are game demos anymore? I for one used to look forward to the demo discs that came with my various magazine subscriptions. I would pour over every game on the disc and decide whether any of them were worth my time. I discovered a lot of good games this way that I don't think I would have played without the ability to try them out first. Sly Cooper and Freedom Fighters are the two that spring to mind at the moment, the latter being one of my favorite games of the last generation.
But, my subscriptions have since expired and the days of DLC and instant gratification and the internet have arrived, and with its advent physical media is dying a slow painful death. But that is a topic for another rant.
I use demos to (obviously) try new games before they come out. And i will more often than not base a purchase on my reception of the demo. Case in point, Mafia 2. I was super stoked for that one. Had been following it's development for years in fact. And then the demo came out. I was ecstatic at the thought of getting to play a game I have anticipated for so long. And then I played it. And i decided it would be more financially prudent for me to just play GTA 4 some more and not waste my money on a game that I had pretty much already played.
Anyways, I started to wonder how many of you out there still check out game demos. Most of the time it seems like you can tell what you are getting into with games, with the majority of them seeming to be rehashes of last years edition. So, I ask you faithful readers, do you still play game demos? Or do you blindly buy MADDENMADDENMADDENMADDENMADDEN the same game every time? Or somewhere in between? Probably somewhere in between. Let me know in the comments, or don't because you are too lazy to type something.

Merry Christmas Everyone
Go be with the people you care about, be them friends, family or what have you, and enjoy a day that's as much commercialism as it is legitimate holiday. Days aren't important unless we deem them so. Make today about the people that are important to you, not the presents or anything like that. Eat, drink, smoke, and be merry.
Cheers from myself and Squirmy. We'll see ya on the other side.
