That's right, november is national novel writers month. You know what that means... I'm going to sit my ass down and actually try to form a story with words on a page. And not only a story, but one with at least a couple of characters you can give a shit about.
Wish me luck.
Squirmy.
Ps. Will most likely post updates and excerpts if anyone wishes to follow.

Random High Thought of the Day
Starting a new thing here...
Putting down my random high thoughts of the day, or at least the ones that stick with me.
Today's is...
Random High Thought 1
Deer kind of have races...like humans have asians, blacks and whites. Some deer live in areas of plenty and little hardship. Resulting in a ample frame, full body and little scars. Others live in areas of strife, or deer war... And are skinny little beggars by comparison, covered in old wounds with their ribs peeking out.

The Real Best Way To Smoke
So i was doing some thinking, and i decided that the whole smoking apparatus thing is not the way i want to talk about the best way to smoke. Prepare for preachyness, just so you are warned.
Ok, so, I have decided that the manner of smoking doesn't matter. It all ends the same. What is important is the company you keep while smoking. Smoking by yourself is enjoyable, but i would never equate moments like that as "memorable" in any way. The best way to smoke is when you do it with people you have never had a real conversation with. In my opinion, when under the influence of marijuana, tongues are loosened but intelligence is not stifled, especially while around other people under the influence. (I accept that weed may make you "slower" but I think it just takes a little longer to access the information). I met some of my best friends over a bowl. More than half the kids i met at college i got to know over a joint or some other thing. I think i really met my best friend (and infrequent contributor to this blog) when we smoked in that jacuzzi out of a wood block all those years ago.
The same goes for many of my very close friends. For others, it wasnt necessary, but at this point in my life (where i have been trying to avoid major drinking shenanigans and the like) its a much more calming way to meet people than going to a party or something. Even if i go to a party, i'm the guy that chills and loads bowls for whoever wants to smoke and talk. I'm not even going to go in to the crazy conversations i have had with people i had never met until we sparked up together.
The best way to smoke then, in this sense, is this: A four person circle, including yourself, one of your close friend, another person who you are familiar with but haven't really interacted with. and a stranger (to you, hopefully it's someone that someone knows, but if not then hope they aren't a murderer!). With this setup you arent entirely uncomfortable with not knowing anyone and are comfortable enough to talk about whatever comes to mind. Smoke and let the conversation flow. Awkward silences will happen, but that's ok. The point is the connection with the other people in the circle.
So, after all that, i guess the point is that the inhalation isn't the most important part of the circle. It's the people that are doing the inhaling.
That's the end. Comment if you wish.

Dude...Dragon Age
New Dragon Age 2 trailer is out. Check it out in HD here.
Pretty epic, eh? I'm pretty excited for this one, loved the original, never did the awakening dlc but meh, dlc is overrated. Anyways, i'm not sure how much of that was actual gameplay and how much of it was pre-rendered, but it still looks pretty epic. I read somewhere that they're going to be tweaking the control system a bit, but I personally hope they keep the PC control scheme similar to the originals, I thought it worked really well, but a more streamlined interface is never a bad thing. What do you think they should do with the controls? Do you even give a shit about Dragon Age? Answer me back in the comments yo.
Peace

Best Way To Smoke
Everybody is different. We all have our own tastes and things like that. And I am going to take this moment to tell you my favorite way to smoke. It's one word. Bong. Nothing matches the glory that is bong smoke. The filtration, the cooling, its just...perfect. As a somewhat proficient smoker of herbs and spices, the sophistication of the devices i use to smoke has grown over the years. I have come a long way from the wood block i smoked out of back in high school. (Yes, this is true, you can ask the other blogger about it too, he was there.) But now i have upgraded to what i like to call...The Leviathan. Pics and updated story to come soon. Right now the beast is being cleaned. (some organic leave in cleaner) Stay classy all you people you.

Band of the Day - Gojira
Ok, so, Gojira. French Death Groove Machine is also a good name for them. These guys are awesome, doing super heavy stuff while also kicking back and just letting the groove go. Every album of theirs is different. My favorite is called "From Mars To Sirius" and the most headbangingly awesome track off that record is "Flying Whales" Check it out here. They just got off a European tour opening for Metallica, and are starting to gain quite the following both in their native continent and on our side of the atlantic. They are taking a break right now, but look forward to new stuff from them soon!
FALLOUUUUUUUTTTTT: new vegas
Got the new fallout game today. Hopefully gonna get some play time in here tonight between finishing a Comp essay and studying for a psychology midterm. Will keep this updated with impressions, gripes, etc. Planning on starting and playing through on Hardcore Mode. We will see what happens
The Things that I love
Here's a quick list.
Just to kind of introduce myself.
1. I love pot. It's great, it's wonderful...and if you don't get caught its the best thing a person can do with their freetime.
2. Video games. Great time wasters, great fun.... and when combined with number 1....a day killer.
3. Reading... very similar. Combine it with number one and you live the story. Nothing quite like living in a story, especially one written well.
4. People. I am a social creature. I surround myself with people, friends, and acquaintances. I don't know why this is, I mean, from the things listed above, you might guess I like spending time alone. And I do. But....if I'm outside of my house, I am peopled.
5. Wayne Rooney wants to leave Manchester United.

Sad News
I know this is a few days late but Genghis Tron have reported that they are on an indefinite hiatus. This is one of those bullshit terms my favorite bands come up with, like they are breaking up with me but might call again later. I'm still mad at System Of A Down for that. And it's also a shame because Genghis Tron's last album "Board Up The House" was one of my favorite cd's when it came out a few years back. It also has one of my favorite songs, "Endless Teeth", on it. So, here's hoping they get their stuff sorted out and make another damn cd already.

Band Of The Day-Abominable Putridity
Listen to the name of this band. Think about it for a second. Now think about how heavy they must be. You are about one tenth of the way there. I have been jamming their album "In The End of Human Existence" for a while now and it fucking slays. They are a traditional sort of slam metal from Moscow. If you like heavy, groove based breakdown after breakdown in your face brutal death metal, then check these guys out. Track pick- "Skin Removal"

My rules for smoking:
1: Share. There is no reason to keep that shit to yourself, don't sweat loading a bowl for your friends, if they are anything like mine they will always repay the favor. It's not so expensive. And it is loads more fun to be around your buddies.
2: Always pass left, unless you forget. As they say in that old classic stoner song, pass the dutchie on the left hand side. I don't know why, but it really bugs me when the rotation gets fucked up. But, we have all been so high that we don't even think about it. And in the end, it's not a big deal. I just try to maintain consistency.
3: Don't Bic anyone. Never steal a lighter. Shit is just cruel.
4: Respect the owner of the piece, and the owner of the bud. Usually, whoever packs it gets greens (first hit), but if that person elects said privilege upon someone else, let them choose. Don't be a greedy fuck and grab the piece.
5: Cornerhit. One of the most important rules. Unless you are by yourself, do NOT light the entire bowl. It's the equivalent of shitting in the cereal. You will get nothing but angry glares from the others in the circle. I once had a friend named Steve. He burnt an entire bowl in one hit, in a circle of 5 people. Steve was never heard from again. The preferred method is to burn the edge of the bowl, leaving much greens to be had by all. Yay.
Will continue to update this, but I have to do homework. Bummer, yo.

On The Subject Of Cannabis
Marijuana is decriminalized where i live. I consider this a blessing. There are 7(?) medical marijuana dispensaries in the town i live in. As a result, i tend to get really, really good weed. This is both a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that, well, i'm pretty high...almost all of the time. The curse is that if i go somewhere else, where the green isn't quite as green, i don't get high. Almost at all. But, that keeps it fresh i guess. So anyways, the point of this post. Weed is still illegal in most places (for now). While i recommend smoking for recreation, you may still get caught. Don't blame me. Blame the government or the cops or whatever. But don't blame me. More to come. New writer (maybe), good times to be had by all.

New Faceless Song!
http://www.metalinjection.net/tv/view/5877/the-faceless--new-song-live-in-nyc-10162010
Alright, so, when you are done rocking out to that, let us discuss. First thing, the title. Not entirely sure what he says, some people have said Idol On Reality or such things. I think he said "The Ideal Of Reality", and if that is the case, it's a pretty badass song title. In terms of the song, its definitely very Faceless-y. Crazy instrumentals. Heavy as fuck vocals. That dude can wail for sure. I saw these guys up in Denver at the Summers Laughter tour and i was amazed at how well he can replicate his studio vocals. No word on the lyrics for this new song, but i am sure its about us people not knowing what is really going on and open your eyes and blahblahblah. In all seriousness i love their lyrics and i am super stoked to hear the new album and maybe hear this new song live pretty soon. (Denver with Suffo and Through The Eyes of the Dead!) If you haven't checked out The Faceless' stuff before be sure to grab Planetary Duality. Good shit. Thanks to Metal Injection for the clip!

Shit Yeah, Bitch
Alright, i'm starting this to have something to do. And, as such, i have titled it with my three favorite hobbies. I honestly doubt i'll be able to keep this shit up. But if i do, hey, that's cool i guess. Guess I'll start with an intro. I'm Cooper. I listen to death metal. I play in a death metal band called Icepick Gag Reflex. I stole that name from a Cattle Decapitation song, but it's cool, I asked Travis Ryan and he said it was ok. When I'm not yelling into a microphone, I'm usually smoking weed. I am very into knowing the names of strains and whether they are indica dominant, sativa dominant or what have you. I even have a process when it comes to smoking that shit. (This will be discussed further in hour 4: The Road To Inebriation)And then, videogames. Videogames are what i do while smoking and listening to death metal, so i thought it fit. But yeah, my aim with this is to keep myself writing, and i figure if i'm writing about things i love, then it'll be that much easier. \ This is my blog (fucking hate that word) and i shall do with it what i may.Boo-Yah!
